Little Bat

It was fun to take Anthony to visit his Grandma, Aunt Cynthia and Nana Pat for Halloween.
Anthony visiting Grandma on Halloween.

Last week my cousin Stacey got married. Lauren babysat and Ed and I got to enjoy a nice time out. It was a beautiful wedding, great meal and lots of fun. Stacey looked beautiful.

My sister Corey and her baby bump were Bridemaids at the Wedding.

This is what relaxed, child-free for 1 ngt parents look like!

Anthony at Daycare

We were lucky to find a nice Mom in the neighbourhood to take Anthony to while I am back to work. Jenny has 2 of her own little ones and she runs a home daycare. She is very organized and she has put a lot of thought and effort into having a good quality home childcare. Anthony has really adjusted well and he looks forward to having fun with her each day. She takes candid pictures throughout the day for the parents to upload at home. It makes me feel good to go to work, knowing that he is happy and in a caring and fun environment.

Going for a wagon ride with the other two.

Anthony's First dip in the Ocean!!

This video was at Topsail Beach, Newfoundland. It wasn't very far from where we stayed. While Ed was busy taking pictures, I met a nice couple that were admiring our son. They said to make Anthony an "Honourary Newfie" we should dip his toes in the Atlantic Ocean. Normally, to become an Honourary Newfie you must take a shot of Newfoundland Screech (Rum). Also called getting "Screeched In". Of course, Anthony is still too young for that. We thought dipping his toes in the ocean was a great idea!

Sunset at Topsail Beach Newfoundland.
Visiting Aunt Maureen (Ed's father Cyril's youngest sister) and Uncle Jim. They were very warm and welcoming to us. I know they were very happy to meet our little Anthony!
EXCITED to be swinging in Bowring Park

Newfoundland Trip

St. John's has a lot of colourful row houses in a very hilly downtown.
Anthony was a great little traveller. He slept for most of the 3.5 hr plane ride and we were thankful to receive a complimentary seat for him with Westjet. This picture was at O'Reilly's Pub on George Street, where we enjoyed tasty fish & chips and we also met a couple travelling from Inwood near my hometown. It really is a small world.
From the top of Cabot Tower on Signal Hill.
Cape Spear National Park. The eastern most point in North America.

Sunny day at Cabot Tower

Newfoundland cont....

Gorgeous view of St. John's Harbour and downtown from the top of Signal Hill at Cabot Tower. This was our 2nd day of our vacation and the weather was beautiful the whole week.
Ed's cousin Gail was very kind to let us stay at her home. This was the great view we had from her deck in Paradise, Newfoundland. As you can see, the name suits it.
We went on a great Whale Watching boat tour!! The picture isn't enough, you have to experience it. The two humpback whales we saw were doing a great show for us and we got so close. I couldn't believe how big they were. They are majestic to watch.
Bay Bulls, the town where we went whale watching.
Early evening at Topsail Beach. Lots of trees, trails and a beautiful sunset.

We love Summer!!!

We visited the animal farm with Auntie Corey. Anthony enjoyed the ducks and the goats the best. He didn't like the brown sheep that "babaed" really loudly in his face.
Cute baby goats
We went for french fries under the Bluewater Bridge after.
Grand Bend on June 28-08. This was Anthony's first time in the sand. He was having lots of fun...I was afraid there might be some sand in his diaper after.

Happy 1st Birthday Anthony!!!

Anthony LOVED his first piece of birthday cake.
He received lots of nice toys to keep him busy.
All Partied Out!!

party pics cont..

Grammie and Grandpa with the Birthday Boy!!
One of his first times on grass. He didn't know what to make of it.
The highlight of the party was watching Anthony eat his birthday cake. It was a very hot, humid day (June 7) and he was not his usual happy self, until we gave him his cake. He went crazy for it!! He was definately the centre of attention then.
Ed held him while we sang Happy Birthday. The heat and all the people were making him upset.
I think this pic says "Momma I'm 1-year old now, but I'm not used to this heat and I want you and Daddy to get me out of this chair right now!" The temp was 30, but felt closer to 40 with the humidity. Also the fact that May was on the cool side, so this was the first taste of heat and humidity.
